Innovative child shower seat from PESA Design in Estonia
A small start-up from Estonia has developed a unique babies’ shower seat to help parents shower themselves and their infants in public pools’ showers.
The author of the PESA design concept, Anna Aleksejeva, came up with the idea when visiting different Spas and baby swimming classes in aqua centres with her little son. It was evident that showering both herself and her baby in public showers could be quite a challenge. There really was no hygienic, comfortable and safe place to put the infant to conveniently shower the child and herself. How can one really manage juggling with the baby in one hand and a sponge in the other while trying to wash the chlorine off the baby and oneself?
And so the design concept of PESA child shower seat was born.
During a weekend in the beginning of November 2012 Anna decided to test her idea during the product development weekend TeamLab - an event that brings together all the parties necessary for forming a start-up. On that weekend Anna linked up with a marketing specialist Eve Järve to form a development team that would work towards turning the concept into reality.
Today PESA Design is a proud finalist in an ongoing Estonian Entrepreneurship Competition - Ajujaht 2013. The team has recently grown by one member, Taave Lips, and the three of them have together faced the different challenges presented by the reality TV show competition.
PESA child shower seat is a multifunctional and hygienic infants’ shower-seat for carrying, holding and showering your baby safely in public aquatic facilities. The seat is easily adjustable according to the infant’s development between the ages of 2 to 12 months.
PESA Design’s vision is to have PESA shower seats in every Spa and public pool offering baby swimming classes.
Currently the team is looking for additional investments for developing the product to the production-ready stage.
PESA - safe for the baby, convenient for the parent.
