printingThe Estonian printing industry is a rapidly developing area of economy. Large investments have been made into this sector in the last decade. That has allowed enterprises to achieve the desired production quality and efficiency in order to ensure competitiveness also in external markets.

There are nearly 300 enterprises in the sector, which are divided into four categories according to field of activity: periodical printing houses, book printing houses, labelling and packaging printing houses and advertising printing houses.

The number of printing enterprises is divided between the sub-sectors as follows: advertising (75%), labelling and packaging (11%), periodicals (5%) and book printing (3%).

The largest enterprises in the sector are Kroonpress AS, Printall AS, Reusner AS, Tallinna Raamatutrükikoja OÜ, Unipress AS, Print Best Trükikoda AS, Uniprint AS, Labelprint OÜ, Printcenter Eesti AS, Greif OÜ, Printon Trükikoda AS, Data Print OÜ, Pajo AS, Ecoprint AS, Aktaprint AS.

The turnover of the printing industry amounted to 190 million EUR in 2011. Export turnover in 2011 was 81 million EUR.
