There are more than 500 enterprises engaged in furniture production in Estonia. The furniture industry enterprises employing the most people are located mainly in Harju County and South-eastern Estonia. The largest furniture producers include office furniture producer Standard AS, furniture component producer Flexa Eesti AS and timber furniture producer Valga GOMAB Mööbel AS.
The average sales turnover of the sector was 58 million EUR in the first half of 2009. The average export turnover was 42 million EUR. In the first half of 2009, export was divided between the main export countries as follows: Finland (44%), Sweden (14.5%), Denmark (9%), Germany (6.5%), Norway (5.5%) and Holland (4.5%). The main groups of export articles include upholstered seats with wooden frames (34%), furniture components (15%), dining room and living room furniture (11%) and wooden bedroom furniture (8%).
